You pull over and begin to explain to Phillip what's on your mind when your phone rings. It's Maria. When you answer, she can barely speak. Her weeping breaks your heart. When she's finally calm, she gives you the news. Her mother suffered a heart attack tonight and is undergoing emergency surgery. There's no insurance to cover this and Maria is in a full-blown panic.
