You tell Phillip no, and return to the grocery to finish your shift. Finally, after another tedious day, you’re on your way home in a taxi, squeezed in the middle and forced to breathe in your fellow passengers’ body odour and halitosis. You daydream about speeding down an empty highway in the dead of night, until you get to your front door. A third eviction notice, printed on bright red paper hangs from the door and cold shivers erupt in your stomach. You owe four months’ rent and the landlord is a day away from changing your locks. Panicking, you call Phillip and tell him you changed your mind.
