Your best friend, a man you considered a brother, has drawn a gun and is aiming it right between your eyes. "Don't bother to run, boy," he says. "I'm sick of following you around whole night." He laughs wickedly. "The System doesn't want your freedom, Joseph." What is he talking about? "You think anything that happened to get you here was your choice, partner? I led you here." He points to the van bearing the stolen goods. "You will never be more than a criminal, Joseph. Everyone has their role to play in the System and this is yours."
"I'm no criminal!" You protest. "I've turned my life around completely." Phillip laughs again but the gun never wavers. "The only thing you're good at is breaking the law, Joseph. You proved it to us when we released you from prison. The best you could do for yourself was get a job as a packer in a parlour. With or without us, you would have ended up right here."
